How to Watch the 2019 BAFTA Awards and Red Carpet

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) – Hollywood’s best and brightest are once again making the trip across the pond for this year’s annual BAFTA Awards in London.

However, unlike other award shows, viewers won’t be able to watch Sunday’s ceremony live when it starts at 7 p.m. GMT in London’s Royal Albert Hall. As in past years, the broadcast won’t begin airing on until 9 p.m. GMT so that BBC producers can edit down the runtime to a shorter two-hour show, as well as snip any profanities.

In America, viewers will still be able to watch the ceremony at 9 p.m. ET on  as well as the red carpet, which is being broadcast live on Facebook , Twitter and YouTube  at 9 a.m. PT.

Legendary British actress Joanna Lumley is returning to host this year’s awards ceremony, which is honoring a wide swath of award show favorites. Leading this year’s nominations is Yorgo Lanthimos’ “The Favourite” with 12 nods, followed by popular films “A Star Is Born,” “BlackKklansman” and “Green Book.”

Nominated in the leading actor category are Christian Bale for “Vice,” Steve Coogan for “Stan & Ollie,” Rami Malek for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Viggo Mortensen for “Green Book” and Bradley Cooper for “A Star Is Born.” Cooper also scored one of this year’s best director nominations alongside Alfonso Cuaron for “Roma,” Lanthimos for “The Favourite,” Spike Lee for “BlacKkKlansman” and Paweł Pawlikowski for “Cold War.”

This year’s leading actress category is similarly competitive, featuring Glenn Close for “The Wife,” Lady Gaga for “A Star Is Born,” Melissa McCarthy for “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”, Olivia Colman for “The Favourite” and Viola Davis for “Widows.”
