Xbox Live Downtime Caused Headaches For Xbox One Owners

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) – Updated: The Xbox Live service is reportedly up and running again after some temporary downtime on Wednesday that caused lots of headaches for owners.
“The issues surrounding Xbox One console startup, sign-in, title update errors, and our status page have now been resolved,” the Xbox Support team tweeted. “Thank you for sticking with us while our teams addressed these issues and we appreciate the reports. As always, we’re here and we’re listening.”
Many people reported on social media they were getting a black screen when trying to log into their consoles. Others experienced errors when signing in or updating an application. Microsoft said it was aware of the reports and it was working on the problem.
“Our teams have identified the cause for our earlier issues and are continuing to address these now,” Xbox Support tweeted. “Thank you for your patience, we’ll update again when we know of any other changes.”
“Our engineers are actively investigating and working on the issues outlined in our initial post,” it added. “In the meantime, keep an eye out on our Service Status page for updates while this issue is worked on: ;
While the issue was quickly resolved, that didn’t stop at least one poor person from panicking and factory resetting their console, wiping out their entire library.
