TV Ratings: ‘Masked Singer’ Even, ‘Riverdale’ Returns Steady

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) – “The Masked Singer” continued its streak of Wednesday night wins.
Fox’s raucous singing competition show posted a 2.0 rating and just under 7 million total viewers, pretty squarely even on last week’s tally. The network’s new drama “Almost Family” followed it by ticking up very slightly from last week to a 0.8 rating and 2.6 million total viewers.
On The CW, “Riverdale” returned steady with a 0.4 rating and 1.18 million total viewers, up on its season 3 average rating of 0.36 and average viewership of 1.05 million. The high school drama, whose season 4 premiere featured a tribute to Luke Perry, acted as a solid lead-in to the series debut of “Nancy Drew,” which posted a 0.3 rating and 1.17 million total viewers. While those figures are unsurprisingly below the network’s more buzzed about freshman series “Batwoman,” they are about on par with debuts from the last couple years on The CW.
Over on NBC, the “Chicago” trifecta performed solidly yet again, with “Chicago Fire” ticking up from last week to a 1.2 rating and leading the night in total viewership with 7.6 million viewers. “Chicago Med” was also up a touch at a 1.10 rating, while “Chicago P.D.” was even on last week at a 1.0.
“Survivor” led the way for CBS with a 1.1 rating and 6.5 million total viewers, followed by “Seal Team” with a 0.7 and “S.W.A.T.” with a 0.5.
Finally, ABC’s new drama “Stumptown” dipped 13% from last week in the 10 p.m. slot to a 0.6 rating. Earlier in the night, “The Goldbergs” scored a 1.0, “Modern Family” a 0.9 (down around 20% from last week), and both “Schooled” and “Single Parents” posted a 0.7 rating.
